The church is broken sometimes. I wish it wasn't so but in my observation and experience, it is true. The biggest obstacle in Christianity is... christians. Now before I go too far and completely offend the Christian elite, I want to say that I myself am a follower of Jesus Christ and I belong to Him, heart, mind and soul.

Some of the heartbreaking things I have seen include but are not limited to: Telling people they don't have enough faith when they are sick, giving  bad advice to stay in a marriage to a woman who is completely abused by her husband, acting like yourself and your family can do no wrong or that your way of existence is superior to the rest of the world. These things are not like Jesus Christ at all. Nope.

I am not angry. I am not upset. Not anymore. Those types of behaviors used to really get under my skin and irritate me. But now I am just sad about it. I come from a perspective of really liking people.  I think they are interesting and unique. Of course I am not wonder woman and cannot relate to every single personality type but I can appreciate them. I really wish that people who bear the name of Christ by calling themselves christian would try to act more like Jesus.

You know, bold and fresh, brave and cutting edge but full of love and compassion for people. Full of mercy in their words. Kind. Understanding. Challenging. Passionate. Awe-inspiring! Yea.
